The journal publishes articles in all areas of animal science research, including such sections as taxonomy, morphology, histology, cytology, ontogenetics, ecology, ecological physiology, zoogeography, conservation and practical use of the animal world, etc. One of the most important tasks of the journal is to support and develop comprehensive interdisciplinary research. Much attention is paid to the tasks of inventory and conservation of biodiversity, principles and methods of assessment and rational use of bioresources.
